While many of my friends are in shelters as the air raid sirens wail here in Rehovot, central Israel–I’m outside recording. Mainly it’s because that’s what radio reporters do…but also because we don’t have a shelter, and the sight of me running down the street to the public shelter has elements of “the terrorists win.”
So here’s today’s highlight so far, and it’s early afternoon. The sound is the siren and the explosions. The booms at the end are Iron Dome taking out two rockets–all that’s left are the puffs of smoke in the picture.
I’ll leave my comments and analysis for another time–this is just a taste of what it’s like in Israel now. Five million of the country’s 8 million people are in rocket/missile range from Gaza now–including us.
